Foals are an indie-rock band from Oxford.
Formed in 2005 out of the ashes of math-rock bands the Edmund Fitzgerald and Face Meets Grill, they put out their debut album 'Antidotes' in 2008, which peaked at #3 on the UK's Official Albums Chart. They have since gone on to put out a further five studio albums including, most recently, 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost: Part 2' in 2019. They are due to drop their seventh full-length serving, 'Life Is Yours', on June 17, 2022. As well as their own huge tours, they've also headlined and performed at some of the UK's biggest festivals, including Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Bestival and Parklife. Foals have been confirmed to headline Reading & Leeds Festival in August 2023. They will also celebrate the release of their new album with a run of intimate UK shows in January 2023, following the Life Is Yours North American Tour in December 2022. Having seen a hundreds of bands performing in a variety of different venues, its not often you get to witness something as special as Foals' show at Bristol Academy.
Taking the stage to Prelude, we are treated to a set full of material from their back catalogue, including a lot from latest album 'Holy Fire'. Olympic Airways, Spanish Sahara, the live debut of Bad Habit, fan favourite Cassius and Inhaler - triggering one of the biggest crowd surfing sessions of the evening.
Its only a matter of time until they step up to arena venues.
