Jung Ho-seok, professionally known as J-Hope, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer from South Korea.
He is best known as a member of seven-strong K-Pop group BTS, who he joined in 2013 as the third member, after RM and Suga. Before joining BTS, J-Hope was part of a relatively unknown dance team called Neuron. He took dance classes for six years, from fourth grade to his first year in high school, when he signed with the Big Hit Entertainment label. BTS released their fourth Japanese album, and eighth overall studio album, 'Map Of The Soul: 7 – The Journey', in 2020. The group is currently on hiatus while members undergo their mandatory 18-month military service in Korea, which is set to finish in June 2025, after which the group will be able to reunite. J-Hope put out his most recent studio album, 'Jack In The Box', in 2022, followed by his 'Hope On The Street Vol. 1' EP in 2024. In 2023, a documentary titled J-Hope In The Box premiered on Disney+. J-Hope has announced his first solo tour, billed Hope On Stage, which he'll kick off in late February 2025 with a three-night residency in Seoul.
