Joanna Lamond Lumley, OBE is an English actress, former model, author and activist.
Best known for her role as Patsy Stone in the BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous (1992-2012), for which she won two BAFTAs, her other television credits include The New Avengers (1976-77), Sapphire and Steel (1979-82), and many more. Her film credits include that of Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), Trail of the Pink Panther (1982), James and The Giant Peach (1996), and a whole host of others, the most recent being Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie in 2016.
She's performed in over 13 theatre productions, and has even involved with the production of over seven books, as author and editor. More recently, Lumley tends to make documentaries in which she travels the world, covering so far the Nile, a Trans-Siberian Adventure, and Japan.
Lumley is also an activist for campaigns such as Gurkha Justice, Compassion in World Farming and Vegetarians' International Voice for Animals. She is also patron of the Farm Animal Sanctuary and many other human rights trusts and charities.
