Jonathan Van Ness is a celebrity hair stylist, author, comedian, podcast host and television presenter from Quincy, Illinois.

Several years after qualifying as a hairdresser, he moved to Los Angeles and eventually began working on the hair of his friend Erin Gibson, who worked for the comedy website Funny or Die. This would spark his career in the entertainment industry, after Gibson asked him to perform his recap of a Game of Thrones episode for Funny or Die. This became the popular Gay of Thrones web series, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series in 2018.

Well known around the world for this web series and for his Getting Curious With Jonathan Van Ness podcast, but he his perhaps most famously recognised as the grooming expert on the Netflix series Queer Eye.
