Jonathan Van Ness is a celebrity hair stylist, comedian, podcast host and television presenter from Illinois, now based in LA.

Van Ness dropped out of college to pursue hair styling, and after graduating from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, he worked in Arizona for 5 years, before moving to Los Angeles, California in 2009.

In 2013, Van Ness was working on the hair of his friend Erin Gibson, who worked for the comedy website Funny or Die. Gibson asked him to perform his recap of a Game of Thrones episode for Funny or Die, which became the Gay of Thrones web series. Van Ness was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series in 2018 for the series. It was all go from there.

He is now well known around the world for this web series as well as hosting the Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness podcast, and perhaps most famously as the grooming expert on the recent Netflix series Queer Eye.

Jonathan Van Ness will make his stand up debut in the UK and Ireland with the Road to Beijing tour, which hits in October, as well as performing across North America and even as far as Australia and New Zealand in February 2020.
