Katie Piper is a television presenter, philanthropist, and former model from Hampshire, England.
Her modelling career began at a young age, taking part in various fashion, glamour, national newspapers, martial arts and promotional photoshoots during her career. She also entered competitive beauty pageants and contests; and came 2nd in the Miss Winchester 2006 beauty pageant, and took part in Maxim magazine's Little Black Book contest in the same year.
After a short relationship with Daniel Lynch, a martial arts enthusiast who had been tracking Piper's media and modelling career, he planned an attack with Stefan Sylvestre (who carried out the attack) to throw sulphuric acid in Piper's face. The attack left her with severe scarring, and has had over 40 surgical operations to treat her injuries.
Since, she has successfully worked to rebuild her life, presenting numerous body-confident television shows - 'Katie: My Beautiful Face', '20/20', 'Katie: My Beautiful Friends', 'Katie: The Science of Seeing Again', and 'Bodyshockers', the Channel 4 series about members of the public about to undergo body-altering procedures and those who regret procedures they have had.
She has also released a best-selling autobiography, had a regular column in weekly magazines, and even released a clothing line, yet she primarily works for her charitable organisation the Katie Piper Foundation.
