LCD Soundsystem is an American rock band from New York, consisting of frontman and producer James Murphy, alongside a live performers.

Forming in 2001, their debut self-titled album was released in 2005, and gained a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The single Daft Punk Is Playing at My House also received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. ‘Sound of Silver’ was released in 2007, and ‘This Is Happening’ in 2010.

In 2011 the band announced they were splitting, only to reform again in early 2016, after releasing the single Christmas Will Break Your Heart in December 2015. Their latest album, 'American Dream', came out in September 2017, featuring the singles Oh Baby and Emotional Haircut, which received a lot of airtime of BBC 6 Music.

LCD Soundsystem have lined up a busy summer 2018.
