Leicester City Football Club was founded in 1884 under the name Leicester Fosse, because it played on a field by the Fosse Road. In 1919, Leicester Fosse became Leicester City, the new name reflecting Leicester's new city status.
The club played in their historic home Filbert Street for 111 years before moving to the King Power Stadium in 2002. Their nickname, "The Foxes" came from the county of Leicestershire being generally recognised as the birthplace of fox hunting. The fixture between Nottingham Forest FC and Leicester City FC is a football rivalry played between the two East Midlands clubs, often referred to as an East Midlands derby. They also class Derby County FC, and Coventry City FC as their main rivals. Leicester City FC have won every major honour in English football, including the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup, as well as the FA Community Shield.
