Military Wives Choirs are choirs consisting of wives, partners and service women of the British Military.
Formed in 2010 at the Catterick Garrison, the choir was featured in the show, ‘The Choir: Military Wives’, with Gareth Malone. Other choirs were set up at RMB Chivenor and Royal Citadel, Plymouth and they released the single, Wherever You Are, which hit the top spot in the UK Singles Chart, becoming Christmas #1. CTCRM, Lympstone and HMNB Portsmouth choirs were formed and contribute to the album, ‘In My Dreams’, which came out in 2012 and reached #1 in the UK Albums Chart. They released a second album, ‘Stronger Together’, later in the year, which reached #5. The choirs have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK and performed at the opening of the Olympic Stadium. The Military Wives Choir will now perform a rescheduled concert series across the UK throughout March 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
