Off The Record is a brand new multi-venue event in Manchester, curated by Guy Garvey, Tim Burgess and Frank Turner and many more, and put together by those responsible for Kendal Calling, Sound City and Bluedot, in collaboration with Louder Than War.
By day, speakers, publishers, labels and more will lead the conferences designed to inspire and aid budding artist starting out in the music industry. By night, Off The Record will draw in the crowds of music lovers with new music, hosting performances from over 40 emerging artists across 7 live venues. The line up will be chosen by curators, which, in addition to Garvey, Burgess and Turner, include John Kennedy, Huw Stephens and Lara Baker, among others. The only criteria for the line up selection is that a band can be no more than 24 months old and cannot have released a debut album. The bill, announced 24 hours before the event, this year hosts (to name but a few of the 35 artists performing throughout the day), 100 Fables, Bang Bang Romeo, Billy Bee, Cassia, False Heads, Meadowlark, Pink Kink, Queen Zee and the Sasstones, River Matthews, The Snuts, Yizzy, and many more! After three sold out years, Off The Record returns to Manchester in November 2019, with talks and conferences already planned by Sundara Karma, Rebecca Boulton, Fickle Friends and more.
