Procol Harum are an English progressive rock band from Southend-on-Sea, Essex, currently consisting of founding member Gary Brooker, alongside guitarist Geoff Whitehorn, bass player Matt Pegg, Hammond organ player Josh Phillips and drummer Geoff Dunn.
Formed in 1967, the band released their debut single, A Whiter Shade of Pale, which hit #1 in the UK Albums Chart and #5 in the Billboard Hot 200. The band have released eleven albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1967, their final album before their split, ‘Something Magic’, in 1977, the album they made when they reformed in the 1990s, ‘The Prodigal Stranger’, which came out in 1991 and their latest album, ‘The Well's on Fire’, which hit shelves in 2003.
