Skipinnish are a traditional Scottish band formed by Angus Macphail (accordion and vocals) and Andrew Stevenson (Highland bagpipe and whistles) when they met at Glasgow's R.S.A.M.D. They soon discovered they had a similar passion for authentic traditional Scottish music and by early 1999 the band was established. Since then, Skipinnish have never looked back going from strength to strength.
Their debut self titled album was released in 2001, and was followed up with 'Sgurr Mor to Skerryvore' in 2003, 'The Sound of the Summer' in 2006, live albums in 2009 and 2010, 'Atlantic Roar' in 2013, 'Western Ocean' in 2014, and their latest, 'The Seventh Wave' in 2017.
As well as their own stand-alone performances, Skipinnish are one of the hottest acts on the vibrant music festival scene at the moment. Having headlined some of Britains biggest festivals, Skipinnish celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tour in December 2018 and then a huge show at Inverness's Bught Park in July.
