The Besnard Lakes are a Canadian indie-rock band hailing from Montreal, Quebec. Formed in 2003 by husband and wife team Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas, they’re currently operating as a five-piece that also includes Kevin Laing, Robbie MacArthur, and Sheenah Ko.
Creating music that combines elements of shoegaze-style indie and post-rock, The Besnard Lakes are driven by songwriting pair Lasek and Goreas, who both draw on numerous aspects of rock'n'roll history as inspiration for their tracks. Their debut album, ‘Volume 1’, came out in 2003, and their latest LP, 'The Besnard Lakes Are the Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings', landed in January 2021.
