Formed from the ashes of At The Drive-In, the band have released six albums to date, with the most recent being 'Noctourniquet' in 2012. They split shortly after the release of the record, eventually reforming in 2022 and putting out their self-titled seventh album later that year. In 2023, they released 'Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazón' comprising acoustic re-recordings of tracks from the band's previous self-titled album from 2022.

The Mars Volta Lately, releases by the Mars Volta have arrived like buses, with a 10 year drought of music answered by two bodies of work in the space of seven months. Technically, though, they’re the same album. ‘Qué Dios Te Maldiga Mí Corazón’ is a complete acoustic reimagining of the El Paso duo’s self-titled effort, which was released in September of last year.
The Mars Volta The Mars Volta’s self-titled comeback album has been described as the band ‘going pop’, but it’s nowhere near as radical a shift as has been made out. Their previous full-length, 2012’s underrated ‘Nocturniquet’, was a notable shift towards this revamped style, as was the more recent solo work of guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López.
