The Wildhearts are a British rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently consisting of Ginger, CJ, Ritch Battersby, Scott Sorry and Jon Poole.
Formed in 1989, the band released their debut album, ‘Earth vs the Wildhearts’, which was followed by ‘P.H.U.Q.’, which hit #6 in the UK Albums Chart. ‘Fishing for Luckies’ was released in 1996, with ‘Endless, Nameless’, hitting the shelves in 1997, before the band disbanded. The band returned in 2001, and they released ‘The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed’ in 2003, ‘The Wildhearts’ in 2007, ‘Stop Us If You've Heard This One Before, Vol 1.’ in 2008 and ‘¡Chutzpah!’ in 2009. After a brief quiet period, the band released 'Mad, Bad and Dangerous To Know' in 2014, followed by a live album in 2015.
In 2018, The Wildhearts, Reef and Terrorvision went on a co-headline tour as part of Britrock Must Be Destroyed. Now, they'll celebrate 25 years of 'Earth Versus the Wildhearts' with an anniversary tour in December, where they'll play the seminal album in full.
