Air Traffic are an English alternative rock band from Bournemouth. Formed in 2003, the band consists of Chris Wall (piano, lead vocals), David Ryan Jordan (Drums), Tom Pritchard (guitar) and Jim Maddock (bass guitar).
Their first single, a double-a side of Just Abuse Me and Charlotte, was released in July 2006 through Fandango. 500 copies were produced, which all sold out within a few days. Following this, the band signed to EMI, and began to experience some mainstream success with airplay on Radio 1, Capital Radio, XFM and Kerrang! Radio. 2006 saw the band start to record their debut album, yet the tracks recorded in Monmouth, Wales, eventually ended up on an EP, 'Never Even Told Me Her Name' later in the year, the title track of which was Zane Lowe's hottest record in the world for a week on BBC Radio 1. With a handful of singles, tracks of the week, and a television appearance on Later With Jools Holland, the band's debut full length finally came out in 2007, entitled 'Fractured Life'. After countless sell-out shows, the ban went on hiatus in 2010, yet their social media accounts became active again in 2017. In autumn of that year, the band embarked on a headline tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of 'Fractured Life', and let out a single Almost Human in October 2017. They have now announced a quartet of shows in Birmingham, London, and Brussels in April, alongside an Oxford show too.
