Albert Hammond Jr. is an American indie-rock and post-punk musician hailing from Los Angeles, California. Born in April 1980, he's best known for his time as guitarist, keyboard-player and vocalist of the Strokes, though he also boasts a healthy solo career too. With The Strokes, Hammond Jr. enjoyed a series of Top 10 albums, and sold millions of albums across the world.
When the Strokes took a few years out of the music game in the mid-Noughties, Hammond Jr. had time to take a break and pursue a solo career, releasing two albums - 2006's 'Yours to Keep' and 2008's '¿Cómo Te Llama?'. Following this, with the Strokes temporarily back in business, he put his own work on hold - but in 2015 returned with 'Momentary Masters'. He release his new solo album, 'Francis Trouble', in March 2018.
Following tours of the US and Canada in spring, Hammond has now confirmed a UK tour for September. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
Just watched Albert Hammond on Late Late Show, amazed at all of the hit songs he wrote - talent, talent, talent. Lots of these songs are so well known by famous artists and this great songwriter has been in the background for so long. Time to step forward Albert. Just amazing.
