Big Big Train are a progressive rock band from Bournemouth, England. Formed in 1990, the lined up currently consists of Robin Armstrong, Nick D'Virgilio, Dave Gregory, Rachel Hall, David Longdon, Danny Manners, Rikard Sjöblom and Gregory Spawton. Until 2009, the band were mostly as a studio project band headed by Gregory Spawton and Andy Poole, who left in January 2018, with changing line-ups and guest musicians.
They have released eleven studio albums and three EPs, from their first demo 'From The River To the Sea' in 1992, their debut full length album 'Goodbye To The Age Of Steam' in 1994 and their latest, 'The Second Brightest Star' in 2017. They also put out a live album in July 2018, 'Merchants Of Light'.
Big Big Train are three times winners of the prestigious Progressive Music Awards: winners of Breakthrough Act in 2013, and Band of the Year and Live Event in 2016).
