Cake are an American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, currently made up of John McCrea, Vince DiFiore, Xan McCurdy,Todd Roper and Daniel McCallum.
Formed in 1991, Cake are noted for their sarcastic, monotone vocals, and cite a wide range of influences including country, mariachi, rock, funk, Iranian folk and hip hop. Quite a mix then! Their debut album, 'Motorcade of Generosity' dropped in 1994, and wasfollowed by 'Fashion Nugget' in 1996, 'Prolonging The Magic' in 1998, and 'Comfort Eagle' in 2001, for which they were nominated for four California Music Awards for outstanding album, single, modern rock/alternative album, and group. They went on to release 'pressure Chief' in 2004, and after a break, dropped 'Showroom of Compassion' in 2011. Having toured North America with Ben Folds before, they're set to embark on another tour together in fall 2019.
