Christine and the Queens is an French electronic pop solo project from singer-songwriter Héloïse Létissier.
Starting her music career in 2008, inspired by the drag queens that would come to her shows, the music of David Bowie and the choreography of Michael Jackson her performances often blur the line between theatre, singing and dancing.
Her debut EP ‘Miséricorde’ was released in 2011, followed by another two EPs ‘MacAbbey’ in 2012 and ‘Nuit 17 à 52’ in 2013. She released her debut LP ‘Chaleur Humaine’ in 2014, and followed this up with a self titled EP in the UK only the same year. Her latest, 'Les Inédits' dropped in 2015.
Christine and the Queens released 'Chris' in September 2018, accompanied by UK, Ireland and European tour dates. She'll head to the US and Australia in 2019 before topping the bill at London's All Points East in spring, making the step up to festival headliner for the first time. Much like a popular meme that references the Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z, Héloïse Letissier has evolved into the binary-defying, strong-willed ‘Chris’. And this isn’t even her final form.
