Kele Okereke, former singer with Bloc Party, has announced details of a lengthy UK tour set to take place this Winter.
Having toured heavily, Bloc Party decided to take a break from the road last year. Seemingly unable to resist the lure of the studio, frontman Kele Okereke re-invented himself to try his hand at some solo work releasing his debut album ‘The Boxer’ earlier this year.
Venturing into the studio, Okereke crafted his debut solo with the freedom to take his music in a different direction. Creating tracks in a way he had never attempted before, the singer’s creativity floods through in the new album which has been critically-acclaimed for its energy and liveliness.
Having already appeared at this year’s Glastonbury, Kele will now be looking forward to performing at Reading and Leeds later this month. Following the twin-site festival shows, the singer will take a short break before setting out on a nationwide tour in November.
In addition to the tour announcement, today also marks the release of Kele’s new single ‘Everything You Wanted’. Slower in pace than his previous ‘Tenderoni’ track, the track looks to be one of the more popular indie ballads of the summer.
The tour kicks-off in Birmingham on November 15th with Kele visiting Glasgow, Manchester and London before closing the jaunt in Bristol on November 20th.
