Elbow Reveal Working Title For New Album

Mercury Music Prize winners Elbow have announced the name of their anticipated new album, the follow-up to their 2008 album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’.
Frontman Guy Garvey revealed the new title whilst speaking to BBC 6 Music announcing that, “The working title of the album at the moment is ‘Lippy Kids.’” When asked about the style of the new album, Garvey gave some more details into his writing, describing the new record as “a nostalgic thing”. Here’s what he had to say.
“It’s quite a nostalgic thing. I’ve got this thing about growing up: not needing to! But a certain period of your life when - well kids are called ‘hoodies’ these days aren’t they when they reach their teens. I remember it being an amazing important time, so I’ve written a lot about that.”
Apparently Elbow have been working hard on the new album, with Guy stating that the band are feeling good about things and are a good three quarters of the way through the record.
“We’re all buzzing off it. You have periods of nervousness and then you have periods of elation. And we’re all buzzing off it as the minute.”
Elbow’s new album looks set for release in 2011.
