Editors Ready To Start Work On New Album

Having just performed at last weekend’s V Festival, Editors have announced that they are all set to begin work on a new album.

Currently in the middle of a tour, Editors revealed the news during a recent interview with BBC 6 Music. Band drummer Edward Lay had this to say about a follow up to last year’s album ‘In This Light And On This Evening’.

“We want to get involved in writing new music as soon as possible and get into an environment that we all enjoy. I think we have had enough time living with this record to know that we can be stronger and improve our song writing.”

Speaking about two demos that have already been laid down by lead singer Tom Smith, Lay added that they were “sounding excellent” and revealed the group will start work on their next album once their current jaunt comes to an end.

“We actually only have one show on the 10th September with Muse in Berlin and then we are ready.”

Editors performed on stage at last weekend’s twin-sited V festival, appearing on a bill that also included Paul Weller, The Prodigy and Pet Shop Boys as well as headliners Kings of Leon and Kasabian.
