Leftfield Continue Live Return With Announcement Of Winter UK Tour & Ticket Details

Tuesday, 31 August 2010 Written by Jon Stickler
Following their stunning headline sets at this year’s Rockness, Creamfields and LED festival, one of the most influential electronic pairings of all time, Leftfield, have announced a UK tour for November and December. Paving the way for other great electronic acts such as Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and The Prodigy, Leftfield are recognised for their jump into the previously unexplored territory of electronic music. Being amongst the first ever to fuse house music with dub and reggae as well as mix live guest vocals into house music, Leftfield are now regarded as pioneers in the fields of intelligent dance music and progressive house.

Despite being released over 15 years ago, the duo’s debut album ‘Leftism’ has remained to this day a masterpiece. The album’s epic soundscapes mixed with stimulating rhythms and vocals, that included those of former Sex Pistol John Lydon, created a mind-blowing audio assault that went on to be shortlisted for the 1995 Mercury Music Prize.

Following-up with the similar offering of ‘Rhythm and Stealth’, the album notched up Leftfield’s first UK Number One album and featured the song "Phat Planet" which you most probably heard on the 1999 ‘Surfers’ Guinness TV advert.

Announcing a string of dates for November and December, Leftfield will continue their live return with an eight-date UK tour starting in Leeds on November 18th stopping at Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Plymouth and Bristol before concluding the tour in London on December 3rd.

Leftfield will play the following UK shows:

November 2010

18th O2 Academy, Leeds
19th Apollo, Manchester
20th Barrowland, Glasgow
25th St Mountford Hall, Liverpool
26th O2 Academy, Bournemouth
27th Pavilions, Plymouth

December 2010

3rd O2 Academy, Brixton, London

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 3rd September priced from £24.00 except for the London show, which is priced from £29.00.
