The Pogues Announce Dates For Fairwell Christmas Tour & Ticket Details

The Pogues, one of the most radical bands of the mid-80s, have revealed details of one final festive fling in the form of their farewell Christmas tour.

Demonstrating that the spirit of punk could thrive within traditional Irish folk music, the Pogues are famed for their fiery and potent live performances. Never the most predictable of groups, the band shuddered to a halt in the early-90s following lead singer Shane MacGowan’s relentless drug and alcohol abuse. Falling from triumph to tragedy the Pogues were remembered for their inspirational music and classic song-writing.

Revisiting the live stage due to popular demand, the Pogues returned! Reformed with the ever-charismatic Shane MacGowan back on board, the band are still on the road belting out some of the most uplifting music you will ever hear some 20 years since their inception.

Starting up their annual Christmas shows eight years ago, The Pogues have now become as much as part of Christmas as turkey and stuffing. Announcing one last reunion for an ultimate seasonal send off, The Pogues have confirmed they will be hitting the road once again this Christmas for a no doubt emotional run of dates.

With the band announcing a seven-date tour, why not experience the party feeling of a St Patrick’s Day in December that only a Pogues gig can create!

The Pogues will play the following UK shows:

December 2010

13th O2 Academy, Glasgow
14th O2 Academy, Newcastle
16th O2 Academy, Sheffield
17th Apollo, Manchester
18th O2 Academy, Birmingham
20th O2 Academy Brixton, London
21st O2 Academy Brixton, London

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 3rd September.
