London-based electronic music duo Groove Armada are to release new album ‘White Light’ on Monday 18th October. The album will comprise of re-recorded versions of tracks taken from their sixth album ‘Black Light’, which was released earlier this year and featured collaborations with Bryan Ferry and Will Young.
‘White Light’ will also include a brand new track entitled ‘1980’. The release of the album will follow Groove Armada’s upcoming UK tour dates, which the group recently confirmed would be their last ever shows as a full live band.
“It began as ‘Black Light’,” said Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay of the new album. “Then it was re-cut, reworked and enlarged for a festival season that began at Glastonbury, crossed Europe, took in Japan, and ended in Moscow. Now these king size live versions have been taken back to the studio and re-recorded. ‘Black Light’ has become ‘White Light’.”
The duo first formed in 1996 and came to prominence three years later, upon the release of their second album ‘Vertigo’, which featured the singles ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘If Everybody Looked the Same’. The album also included the track ‘At the River’, which was taken from their 1998 debut ‘Northern Star’.
The full track listing of ‘White Light’ is as follows:
1. Warsaw
2. Time & Space
3. History
4. Not Forgotten
5. I Won't Kneel
6. Look Me In The Eye Sister
