Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall has contributed a song a charity album entitled ‘1969: Key To Change’.
Launched by Prince William, the project is an exclusive covers album in aid of Centrepoint, the UK’s largest youth charity, who celebrate their 40th Anniversary this year. The album consists of important and memorable hits from 1969, the year in which the charity was founded.
Hucknall has contributed ‘Chains Of Love’ to the album, a track from his first solo album, ‘Tribute To Bobby’, released in 2008. Other artists featuring on the album include The Feeling, Speech Debelle, Frank Turner, Johnny Marr, Ian Brown and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.
Centrepoint is a charity which aims to tackle homelessness, particularly amongst young people. For each album downloaded, £4.45 will be donated to the charity. The album can be downloaded online at http://www.centrepoint.org.uk/key-to-change
Simply Red announced last year that they will split after a final farewell tour. With a career that spans twenty-five years and ten studio albums, fans have been keen to see the band before they call it a day. From the extensive tour, only four dates still have ticket availability:
November 7th – O2 Arena, Dublin.
November 8th – Belfast Arena, Belfast.
December 8th - O2 Arena, London.
December 15th – NIA Arena, Birmingham.
