New York post-punkers The Drums are to release new single ‘Me and the Moon’ on Monday 13th December. The single is the fourth to be taken from their self-titled debut album, following ‘Best Friend’, ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ and ‘Let’s Go Surfing’.
The Drums were first formed in 2006 and went on to release their critically-acclaimed first album earlier this year, which debuted in the Top 20. Since the beginning of the year, the band have supported Kings of Leon and Florence and the Machine in the UK and joined The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club and the Big Pink for the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour in February.
However, the band’s delight at their early success was halted in September when guitarist Adam Kessler announced that he would be leaving the group.
The Drums are set to play a headlining tour of the UK later this year, stopping at the following venues:
Liverpool O2 Academy Tuesday 2nd November
London HMV Forum Wednesday 24th November
London HMV Forum Thursday 25th November
Bristol Anson Rooms Friday 26th November
Birmingham HMV Institute Saturday 27th November
Glasgow O2 ABC Monday 29th November
Newcastle Northumbria University Friday 3rd December
Leeds University Union Saturday 4th December
