Arcade Fire Plan Winter Writing Session

Arcade Fire’s Will Butler has stated that the band will be writing new material this Winter before a tour next Spring. The band are currently scheduled to play a number of UK tour dates until mid-December, but in a recent interview Butler explained what the band plan to do with their time off.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, he said: "We'll definitely be touring next Spring - the weather will be nicer for driving around then than in the winter. We're going to experiment this winter. We're not quite sure what we're doing in February, but January and March we'll probably be off. We've never successfully written or done anything really in a middle of a touring cycle, but this time we'll try".
He continued: "We're going to see if we can maybe get into a different rhythm besides the tour, tour, tour, rest, rest, rest, tour, tour, tour, rest, rest, rest. We're going to see if we can intertwine them a little bit"
Butler was interviewed just before giving a talk at Northwestern University in Illinois, which he used to attend. He discussed the difficulties in mixing life as a musician with his own environmental and charity concerns, highlighting especially the band's work with the 'Partners For Health' charity.

Dec 5th - Dublin O2
Dec 6th - Dublin O2
Dec 8th - Birmingham LG Arena
Dec 9th - Cardiff International Arena
Dec 11th - Manchester Central
Dec 12th - Glasgow SECC
