The Cure, Primal Scream And More Confirmed For Bestival 2011 & Ticket Details

The Cure and Primal Scream are amongst the first acts to be announced for next year's Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight.

Voted Best Major UK Festival, Bestival takes place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 8th to September 11th. The Cure's headline performance at the weekend bash will be the band's only European show of 2011.

Speaking about the show, The Cure's frontman Robert Smith said, “I'm delighted and excited that our only European festival performance in 2011 will be at Bestival. We will do all we can to help make it a weekender to remember.” Joining The Cure as headliners will be Primal Scream, who will be playing their 1991 classic album 'Screamadelica' in it's entirety.

Other acts confirmed for Bestival include Brian Wilson, Magnetic Man, Robyn, Crystal Castles, DJ Shadow, Katy B and A Trak. Announcing the acts just after 10am this morning, Bestival boss DJ Rob Da Bank had this to say. “I've spent the last 20 years of my life listening to The Cure and the last five attempting to persuade Robert Smith and the crew to hop on a ferry to our magical Isle. This year felt like a landmark year for Bestival. We've become a large festival but I still feel we're more intimate than any of the other shows our size and, crucially, we're 100 per cent independent. That means we book who we want to book, choose all the food stalls and traders ourselves and listen to our fans to make sure we keep Bestival the best.”

More acts for Bestival 2011 are to be announced soon, check out www.bestival.net for details. Tickets for Bestival are onsale now.
