Liam Gallagher Declares His Support For The 100 Club

Liam Gallagher has joined a host of celebrities and musicians in declaring his support to stop the closure of London’s 100 Club.

The ex-Oasis man has leant his support to the campaign, which is intended to stop the Oxford Street venue from closing due to the financial pressures of ‘increased rent’. Gallagher had played at the venue with Oasis in 1994, but declared that he would still like to play there with his new musical outfit, Beady Eye.

Gallagher contributed a hand-written note to the campaign website savethe100club.co.uk, which praised the venue extensively: "very rock'n'roll. Sorts the men out from the boys. A real shame, fancied playing there with the mighty Beady Eye"

Other musicians to back the campaign include Carl Barat, Frank Black, Paul Weller, Mick Jagger and many more. You can view the club’s campaign video below:

Meanwhile, Gallagher has declared that he is no longer the party animal that he once was. In a recent interview with a British newspaper, the Beady Eye singer said: “I haven’t really been out for 24 years. Everyone thinks they’re so cool. I could be somewhere else to be honest – at home or with my mates. I don’t do it as much as I used to. I just can’t be bothered with these parties any more.

He added: "I don’t drink as much as I used to but when I go, I f*ckin’ go. I’ll be the last f*ckin’ one standing.”
