White Bone Rattle Announce Details Of Debut EP ‘Far Beyond The Settled Mind’

Monday, 24 January 2011 Written by Jon Stickler

White Bone Rattle come from Maidstone in Kent, they managed to sneak backstage at Glastonbury last year and get drunk with Blur, Kasabian and Madness before getting kicked out for being disorderly, they can list ITV presenter Adrian Chiles as a fan after giving him an EP at a Robert Plant show and they reckon the best gig experience they have had so far was playing at 5am during an illegal underground reggae squat party in London. White Bone Rattle are no ordinary rock band.....

‘Far Beyond The Settled Mind’ is their debut mini-album and will be released on Monday 7th March. It's a darkly psychedelic head trip of a record that fuses classic heavy guitar riffs and hauntingly melodic vocal harmonies with a dirty low down sexy bass driven groove that tips its hat fondly toward the heritage of Led Zeppelin, The Who and Black Sabbath but also draws influence from contemporary artists such as Wolfmother and The Cult . Small wonder then that guitar legend Gary Moore personally invited them to support him on a recent tour date and when you add recent support slots with Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club and Band Of Skulls to the raft of positive reviews for their self-titled 3 track released in Sept last year, it's easy to see how this catalyst of interest in the classic rock revivalists resulted in their signing to Tin Robot Records at the end of 2010.

'Far Beyond The Settled Mind' is a massive statement of intent from a hugely talented and ambitious young rock band. Tracks such as the brooding and atmospheric 'Dallas Rabbit' contrast dramatically with the all out guitar driven structure of 'Rise In The Morning', highlighting a measure of vision, diversity, depth and dynamic rarely displayed by many rock bands seemingly more obsessed these days with the short sighted and shallow scenes that dominate the mainstream music markets at present.

That said this mini album is a mere pre-cursor for what is to come later in 2011 with plans for their full length album already at the demo stage and with the undeniable potential shown by this band to blend old with new it promises to be an exciting and eagerly anticipated release. A UK tour is currently being finalized and a video for their debut single 'Rise In The Morning' is finished and will be released at the start of February ahead of the release of 'Far Beyond The Settled Mind' on March.
