New York rock band The Strokes have unveiled a preview for a new song entitled ‘Under Cover Of Darkness’.
The band launched a 30 second sample clip on Amazon.com, where customers can listen to the track before pre-ordering their upcoming album, ‘Angles’. The track will be the lead single from their much-anticipated new album, which is the first release from the band since their 2006 LP ‘First Impressions Of Earth’.
The snippet gives a first taste of the ‘classic’ Strokes sound that bassist Nikolai Fraiture alluded to during an interview with the BBC last month. Speaking about the tone of ‘Angles’, he stated that the group had returned to a sound from their past, declaring: “Sonically, I feel it's the album which should have been made between 'Room On Fire' and 'First Impressions Of Earth'”
According to The Strokes, ‘Angles’ is set for release on March 22nd. The tracklisting for the record was also revealed by the band recently:
1. Machu Picchu
2. Under Cover of Darkness
3. Two Kinds of Happiness
4. You’re So Right
5. Taken for a Fool
6. Games
7. Call Me Back
8. Gratisfaction
9. Metabolism
10. Life Is Simple in the Moonlight
