Glasvegas Confirm American Tour Was Cancelled Due To Drug Overdose

Glasvegas frontman James Allen has revealed that the band were forced to cancel performances on their last US tour after the singer suffered from a drug overdose.

The band were scheduled to perform at the famous Coachella festival in 2009, however the Scottish rockers failed to make their appearance at the Californian event and cancelled the US dates that were scheduled after the performance. At the time, the band issued a statement saying that Allen was ill, "suffering from exhaustion and dehydration", however the singer has now revealed that it wasn’t entirely truthful.

In an interview with The Sun today, the frontman said: "It's funny the fancy names people come up with when somebody has an overdose."

He continued to describe the difficult road to recovery, adding: "It was difficult to connect a fork with rice to my mouth. I was flinging half my dinners on the floor. I was no use to nobody. But that's just part of living, whether that scares people or whatever, I dunno."

Meanwhile, Glasvegas released the video for their upcoming single, ‘Euphoria, Take My Hand’ late last month. You can view the video for the track below:
