Gary Glitter “Spotted In ‘X Factor’ Queue”

Tuesday, 08 March 2011 Written by James Conlon

‘X Factor’ organisers have started an investigation into claims that convicted paedophile Gary Glitter was spotted at a London audition for the show.

According to sources, the ‘Leader Of The Gang’ singer was spotted in the queue for auditions at London’s O2 Arena yesterday (March 7th).

British newspaper The Sun took a statement from an ‘X Factor’ singer who was also waiting in line, Jay Brown. He said: "I Googled pictures of him on my Blackberry phone - and saw a couple of moles on his cheekbone, and a line of scarring on the right side of his face. I also recognised the gravelly voice. When I tried to take his picture he kept turning away."

Gary Glitter, who has gone under various aliases over the past few years (real name Paul Gadd) is said to have waited in the queue for almost eight hours, swearing about the cold weather and singing: "Why are we effing waiting?"

A spokesperson for the show said that they have launched an investigation into the claims and at the present moment believe that the individual in question was not Gary Glitter. The singer was jailed in March 2006 for unlawful behaviour with two girls aged 11 and 12.
