British electro-pop band Friendly Fires have confirmed details of their upcoming studio album. Their sophomore LP will be entitled 'Pala', and is set for release in the UK on May 16th.
The ‘Paris’ band, who have been confirmed for this summer’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, wrote the majority of the album while living in a cottage in Northern France. The LP was produced by modern marvel Paul Epworth (of Bloc Party and Florence and the Machine fame) and recorded during various sessions in Sussex, St. Albans, London and New York.
The title of the album is said to be taken from Aldous Huxley’s 1962 novel ‘Island’.
The tracklisting for ‘Pala’ will be:
1. 'Live Those Days Tonight'
2. 'Blue Cassette'
3. 'Running Away'
4. 'Hawaiian Air'
5. 'Hurting'
6. 'Pala'
7. 'Show Me Lights'
8. 'True Love'
9. 'Pull Me Back To Earth'
10. 'Chimes'
11. 'Helpless'
Meanwhile, the band premiered their first track from the release last night online. ‘Live Those Days Tonight’ is a lively affair, and a song which is sure not to alienate the more purist of their fanbase. Friendly Fires are set to perform the track live on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ tonight (March 23rd). You can listen to it below:
