American pop-punk rockers New Found Glory have revealed details of three UK shows this August.
New Found Glory's live sound has been described as one of 'unfettered energy and passion expressed through distorted amps and hooky choruses'. Formed in 2007, their brand of music is drawn from influences such as punk revivalists Green Day and NOFX, to hardcore acts like Hatebreed and Madball. The band is noted for their blend of pop melodies with the energy and fast tempos of classic punk rock. Subsequently, they are widely considered key pioneers of pop punk.
The fivesome have garnered a devout following over the course of their career and started the new year by participating in the 2011 Soundwave Festival with acts like Iron Maiden, Queens of The Stone Age, Slayer, Primus, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bullet For My Valentine, Millencolin, Sum 41, MxPx and more. The band have also announced they will be playing the Friday and Saturday respectively at the UK's Reading and Leeds Festivals in August, sharing the Main Stage with My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, The Offspring, Deftones, Rise Against, Bring Me The Horizon, The Blackout and Architects.
New Found Glory returned to the studio in April to record their seventh album, titled 'Radiosurgery'. They plan to release it in September on Epitaph Records, with Neal Avron the producer. Avron is a long-term collaborator of the band having also produced their albums 'New Found Glory' (2000), 'Sticks and Stones' (2002), and 'Catalyst' (2004).
Speaking about 'Radiosurgery', NFG founding member Chad Gilbert said that the album "is the most upbeat, fun record we've ever recorded. Catchy but not in a fake pop sounding way. I wanted to go back to more of the roots of punk rock and pop punk and put a whole new NFG spin on it. So imagine Green Day's Dookie, the Ramones, maybe even a little of Rancid's Let's Go all thrown into a pot of NFG. The record goes from song to song never letting up the energy."
New Found Glory have announced the following UK shows:
