Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Produces Son's Band's Album

Green Day legend Billie Joe Armstrong has been helping produce his son’s band’s debut album, which will be released next month.

Emily’s Army consists of Joey Armstrong and his three friends Travis Neumann, Cole Becker and his brother Max Becker, and is named after the vocalist Cole Becker’s cousin who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. Joey recently joined the fresh-faced punk band to play drums - and Joey, 16, enlisted the help of his rockstar dad to help produce an album with them.

‘Don’t be a Dick’ will see release on June 14th in the US, through Billie Joe’s own record label Adeline Records, and you can see the tracklist for the album below along with a preview of the band’s single ‘Broadcast This’.

The band have a similar sound to that of early Green Day records, but still manage to keep a unique twist on things, and the band could very easily see great success with the release of their album – especially with the hype generated by the presence of Joey and Billie Joe Armstrong.

The Green Day vocalist is a fan of the band, and said: “The record has a lot of youthful punk rock attitude. They’re raw. It’s well played, has great hooks and is catchy as hell.”
