Lebanese Government Lift Ban On Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’

Thursday, 09 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Lebanese officials have chosen to reverse their decision to ban Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ from release in the country. Lebanese authorities originally made the decision to impound thousands of copies of the album due to the fact that the material on the LP was considered “offensive to Christianity”.

However, it would now appear that the country has made a U-turn regarding their stance on the album, which is currently Number One in 28 countries. According to The Sun, a spokesperson for the Lebanese Government said yesterday (June 8th): "The CD has received approval for entry and distribution in Lebanon."

Although no further feedback has been given from the country’s censorship authority, it is believed that various protests from the singer’s Lebanese fans led to the decision being overturned, combined with the fact that the LP was freely available for fans in the country to download online anyway.

Meanwhile. The ever-eccentric singer made her first public outing today since bearing all at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards on Monday night (June 6th). The ‘Judas’ singer managed to accidentally flash onlookers while making her entrance to the event on the red carpet.

Not one to be outdone by an accident, the singer then proceeded to strip down to a see-through body-length stocking and spiky underwear for her exit from the bash.
