Belgian Festival To Go Vegetarian For Morrissey

A music festival in Belgium has declared that they will be making one day of the event entirely vegetarian to accommodate a performance from Morrissey.

The ex-Smiths singer famously abandoned a performance at the Californian Coachella festival in 2009 after he smelt fans cooking meat on a barbeque near the stage. The singer is said to have commented in disgust: “I can smell burning flesh”, before going on to state: "…and I hope to God it's human."

However, the Lokerse Feesten festival in Belgium have announced that they will be doing all that they can not to antagonise the singer by turning the entire event vegetarian for the day of his performance.
According to BBC News, festival organisers will abandon their burger stalls for the day to accommodate the ‘Meat Is Murder’ star.

Describing the difficulties of temporarily changing the event, organisers have written on the festival’s website, saying: "One meatless day in ten is a healthy break for all. Many months we worked on it, for weeks we waited for an answer, many nights were spent sleepless."

They continued to describe the change to vegetarianism as a "welcomed catering challenge for one day".
