Jools Holland, Brit Floyd & Deacon Blue Confirmed For Liverpool Summer Pops Festival 2011 & Tickets

Jools Holland And His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra have been announced as the opening act for the Liverpool Summer Pops Festival 2011. Fronting his 20-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Jools Holland will be performing at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday 1st July 2011.

Jools Holland, OBE, has become a mainstay of the Summer Pops Festival, with crowds faithfully returning for an ever-promised evening of astounding musicianship and entertainment. Speaking of the festival Jools said, “I used to love playing the Summer Pops in the big tent on the waterfront. The arena is good too, but the tent holds very fond memories.”

Brit Floyd, the amazing brand new Pink Floyd tribute show created by Summer Pops promoter, Chas Cole, and Damian Darlington the long time musical director of 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show', play two Summer Pops shows at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday 2nd and Saturday 30th July 2011.

Chas Cole said, “The reaction to our new show has been brilliant, we launched Brit Floyd to a 7,000 strong Echo Arena crowd in January. It’s was a fantastic show so we simply had to bring Brit Floyd back to Liverpool.”

Legendary Scottish band Deacon Blue will perform at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday 29th July 2011, marking a fifth Summer Pops appearance for the band, who last played to a sold-out Echo Arena crowd in 2009.

Singer-songwriter Ricky Ross said, “The Liverpool audiences are always full of energy and spirit so it will be great to be back for the Summer Pops. We haven’t played as a full band for a while so we’re all looking forward to getting back out there.”

The Albert Dock will be celebrating all things Fab Four as it is plays host to the 2011 Beatles Day, returning for it’s fourth year on Sunday 10th July 2011. Beatles Day is the annual celebration of Liverpool’s favourite sons, their music and the city of Liverpool, which has become a favourite amongst Beatles fans of all ages. Beatles inspired bands will be performing throughout the day across the Dock bringing music to every corner, the day’s events will include a Beatles themed treasure hunt, and a fancy dress competition.
