Tennent’s Vital is excited to announce that two of the hottest rising stars in music - Ellie Goulding and The Wombats – have been added to the line-up for Day 1 of Tennent’s Vital.

They’ll join multi-platinum selling headliner The Script and Bangor’s very own local heroes Two Door Cinema Club atWard Park, Bangor on Tuesday, 23rd of August.  Tennet's Vital Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday, 17th June, priced at £34.50 and more artists will be announced soon.

Ellie Goulding is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed singer-songwriters of the past year with a musical style that refuses to be pigeon-holed.  She was named the number-one breakthrough act in the BBC's annual Sound of 2010 poll and also collected the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year.

Her debut studio album 'Lights' reached number one on the UK Album Charts and sold over 380,000 copies by the end of 2010.  It featured the hit singles ‘Starry Eyed’ and ‘The Writer’. Ellie’s beautiful re-imagining of Elton John’s “Your Song” has cemented her status as one of the most exciting artists working in music today.

The Wombats’ new release ‘This Modern Glitch’ hit No.3 in the album charts and was awarded 4 star reviews in The Times and The Mirror.  Their last album ‘A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation went platinum and featured the indie dance-floor smashes ‘Kill The Director’, ‘Backfire At The Disco’  and ‘Let’s Dance To Joy Division’  (winner of the 2008 NME Award for Best Dancefloor Filler).

The Wombats are Liverpool’s biggest musical exports in a decade.  Their mammoth two year tour in 2009/10 saw them play to well over a million people, culminating in a massive homecoming Liverpool Arena show for 10,000 ecstatic local fans of their dark yet exuberant and infectious alt.pop.

Day 1 headliners The Script are one of the hottest live tickets in the world right now, breaking box office records globally and garnering fantastic reviews for their sell out tours of Australia and The USA. Their latest album Science and Faith’ debuted at No.1 in both the UK and Ireland and hit No.3 in The States while ‘For The First Time’ also gave the trio their first No.1 single.

Following their all-conquering assault of packed-out venues around the world, Tennent’s Vital will be a triumphant homecoming for Bangor’s Two Door Cinema Club.  The band’s upward trajectory has been unstoppable over the last 12 months. Their debut album ‘Tourist History’ won the prestigious Choice Music Award for Best Irish Album in 2010 and its now been lodged inside the UK album charts for over 60 weeks.

Tickets for Tennent’s Vital with The Script, Two Door Cinema Club, The Wombats & Ellie Goulding on 23rdAugust, will go on general sale from 9am Friday 17th June. Tennets Vital Tickets are priced at £34.50 incl booking fee and are strictly limited to 8 per person/transaction.
