The Strokes have discussed the first writing and recording sessions for the follow-up to their hit album ‘Angles’. The New York rockers are already working on the follow-up to their release from March this year, and have claimed that the new material is going well.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, bassist Nikolai Fraiture said:
“It's been feeling really good. We're kind of doing the same thing as the last record – we're bringing in parts and ideas and kind of just working on those and trying to make sense of them, coming from five different people. We're trying not to lose momentum by taking time off and then having to reboot the whole system."
He continued, claiming that the release date for the currently-untitled LP is very much up in the air: “If we could do it tomorrow, that'd be great. But yeah, as soon as possible I think." Fraiture went on to discuss the band’s current plans, insisting that the group are currently planning a “very long tour”.
The Strokes are set to headline this year’s Reading and Leeds festival alongside My Chemical Romance, Muse and Pulp. The festival will take place from August 26th-28th this summer.
