The Killers have already written four or five “strong” songs for their new album, according to frontman Brandon Flowers. The singer confirmed that the band have reconvened and have already written a selection of new material during an interview on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last night (June 21st).
Speaking to Lowe about the follow-up to their 2008 LP ‘Day & Age’, Flowers said: "We have about four or five. We've put them up on the board and they're sounding good. We think they're strong."
The band are set to play two small-scale shows at London Scala today (June 22nd) and tomorrow (June 23rd) before their headline shows at Hard Rock Calling this Friday. Both Scala shows sold out within two minutes of tickets going on sale.
According to early sources, each member of The Killers is set to play one song from their respective solo projects during The Killers large Hard Rock Calling performance, meaning that frontman Brandon Flowers will in all likelihood play a track from his 2010 solo record ‘Flamingo’.
However, it would appear that Flowers is less than confident about the intimate Scala shows, as he said on the radio show: "Those first gigs will definitely be nerve-wracking."
The Killers UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:
Wed June 22nd 2011 - Scala, London
Thu June 23rd 2011 - Scala, London
Fri June 24th 2011 - London Hyde Park, London
