Lil Wayne Shuns Eminem Sequel ‘Dear Anne’

Lil Wayne has admitted that he is not a fan of his own track ‘Dear Anne’, an unauthorised sequel to Eminem’s hugely successful 2000 hit ‘Stan’. The track, which was leaked online last week features Wayne rapping a letter to an obsessed fan over a track produced by Swizz Beatz.
However, in a recent interview with XXL, Wayne confirmed that the track was actually an excluded song from his ‘Tha Carter III’ sessions in 2008. Although the ‘Lollipop’ rapper was originally intending to place it on his upcoming LP ‘Tha Carter IV’, he decided against the move, claiming that he wasn’t a fan of the “old verses”.
Speaking to XXL, he said: "That was actually a record for Tha Carter III that just leaked. It leaked out, and everybody's thinking that it's going on Tha Carter IV 'cause I was actually gonna put it [there]."
He continued: "But I had been listening to it and didn't like it. I don't like it 'cause the song, all the verses are old. And me being a perfectionist, I hate going with old verses."
The release date for ‘Tha Carter IV’ was delayed for a second time earlier this month, with Wayne citing his own ‘perfectionism’ as the cause for delay. The album is now scheduled for release this August.
