One Direction Discuss “Perfect” New Single

Wednesday, 20 July 2011 Written by James Conlon

One Direction have discussed their upcoming debut single, describing the track as “perfect” for their first release. The boyband, who rose to fame through the last series of British singing show the ‘X Factor’, have claimed that they are very happy with the songs on their debut LP.

Speaking to Top Of The Pops magazine, singer Zayn Malik said: "I'm excited because it's what I've been working towards all my life and it's finally happening. We're looking forward to the reaction, but we don't 100% know what's going to happen."

Liam Payne also discussed the track, which many have been claiming will be titled ‘Everything about you’. He said: "I think we've found the perfect song, so hopefully it all goes well and everybody loves it."

When asked about the commercial pressure surrounding their debut LP, Louis Tomlinson stated: "It's a relief because we were looking for a first single for quite a long time. There's a lot of expectation. All the fans know we've been busy recording, so there's a bit of pressure."

Meanwhile, the band discussed role models and previous ‘X Factor’ success story JLS. Speaking about the band’s achievements since appearing on the show, Tomlinson said: "We won't be doing dance routines like them. We wouldn't be as cool. We'd trip over our shoelaces. I don't want us choreographed and matchy-matchy anyway."
