Amy Winehouse Returns To Top Of UK Albums Chart

Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ has made a return to the top of the UK albums chart just eight days after the soul singer passed away. Her second LP has returned to Number One, the place which it occupied shortly after its initial release almost five years ago.

Also returning to the top ten is Winehouse’s debut album ‘Frank’, which sits in the Number Five position. The singer also released a double pack of the two LP’s before her death, and that deluxe edition entered the chart at Number Ten yesterday (July 31st).

2011’s chart success story Adele moved into the Number Two position with her sophomore LP ‘21’, while Beyonce earned the Number Three position with ‘4’.

In terms of the singles chart, JLS earned their fifth UK Number One with ‘She Makes Me Wanna’, a collaboration with Dev. The Wanted also had a good week, finishing in the Number Two spot with summer anthem ‘Glad You Came’.

Amy Winehouse’s death also had a large impact on the singles chart, as four of the late singer’s songs re-entered the top 40. 'Rehab' (Number Eight), 'Tears Dry On Their Own' (Number 25), 'Love Is A Losing Game' (Number 33) and 'You Know I'm No Good' (Number 37) all rejoined the top of the singles chart.
