The Pretty Reckless Unveil Video For New Single When I Wake Up

The Pretty Reckless have shared a video for their new single When I Wake Up.
The punk-rock track was released last week as the second preview of the New York band's fifth studio album, 'Dear God', due out on June 26 via Fearless Records.
The accompanying age-restricted, POV-style video was co-directed by frontwoman Taylor Momsen and Christ Acosta, and sees the singer living life to excess, with cameos from Momsen's old Gossip Girl co-stars, Jessica Szohr and Connor Paolo, and Foo Fighters' Pat Smear and Ilan Rubin. Momsen said:
"l wanted the video to reflect where the song came from - a time in my life when I was out of control, not caring whether I lived or died. We shot it raw, with no grade, no filter. Reality doesn’t come color-corrected, and I didn’t want to change what we captured. The imperfection is the grade. This is where life can take you when you play too close to the edge, chasing substances, sex, and dopamine highs to escape depression. It led me down a rabbit hole of self-destruction that leaves you emptier than where you began…with all that being said..enjoy."
When I Wake Up will be joined on the follow-up to 2022's 'Other Worlds' by the band's earlier single, For I Am Death, which dropped in August 2025.
Also last week, The Pretty Reckless announced their Dear God World Tour, which kicks off with shows across North America from July 10 to September 26, followed by the European leg between November 9 and December 3. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (March 20).
They'll also play Download festival in Leicestershire in June as part of a series of festival appearances across Europe this summer. Tickets are on sale now.
