Scott Weiland to Return to Velvet Revolver?

American supergroup Velvet Revolver could be reuniting in the coming future after departed frontman Scott Weiland claimed he had “patched things up” with the band.

The band have been on an indefinite hiatus since Weiland’s disappearance in 2008, after the members argued on stage and refused to speak to each other off. But, three years and dozens of auditions to take over as the new Velvet Revolver frontman later, it looks as though there may finally be a reunion of the ‘Slither’ singers.

“We patched things up and we get along,” Weiland revealed. “I see them every now and again, we text each other… And you know, we can never say never. Who knows, maybe we’ll do some shows some time.”

He also went on to talk about the band’s decision to kick him out, and the experiences he had with the star-studded group.

“That was a magical thing, too. That was right when I was getting off dope and those guys were all sober and clean, and I had a very special kind of kinship because we’d all experienced the same things.

“It felt like us against the world: ‘We’re gonna play just pure rock ‘n’ roll’. And I think we did a really good job of it. It was a great band to see live, and I think we made two exciting albums.”

During Weiland’s absence the band have searched for a new frontman, turning down Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and unsuccessfully inviting Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy in the process. But may be Weiland is the only man suited to the role and his return could be perceived as inevitable.

Nothing concrete has been laid down so far, but Stereoboard will keep you updated with any Velvet Revolver reunion or tour news in future.
