The Grammy Award-winning soundtrack to the 2000 Coen Brothers film ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its release with a new two-disc Deluxe Edition, which is due out on 29th August. At the time of its original release, the album reached Number One in the Billboard 200 and has since become known as one of the Top 10 bestselling soundtracks of all time.

The album was produced by award-winning musician and record producer T-Bone Burnett and featured performances from roots and bluegrass artists such as Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris. In 2001, the soundtrack won three Grammy Awards including Album of the Year. The new bonus disc included with the Deluxe Edition features 14 previously-unreleased tracks, many of which were recorded during the original sessions for the film.

‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ starred George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson in a comedy film directed and written by Joel and Ethan Coen, who also made ‘Fargo’, ‘The Big Lebowski’ and ‘No Country For Old Men’. In the film, Clooney, Turturro and Nelson play three fugitives, who end up releasing a hit record while searching for some lost treasure. The film is also a loose re-imagining of Homer’s Odyssey.
