Guitar god Slash has announced that he has restarted work on a second solo album following his short European stint in July.
The ex-Guns N’ Roses man’s debut solo album was very successful and managed to hit #3 in the U.S. charts, prompting the guitarist to go forth on a mission to record a second LP. Following on from last year’s ‘Slash’, which saw him collaborate with dozens of legendary musicians such as Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Grohl and Lemmy, Slash will be working with touring band mates Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz to complete a currently untitled second album.
The curly-mopped musician confirmed reports he was back in the studio after a tweet he wrote this morning, saying: “Started 2nd round of pre prod today. It's going to be a rockin' fn' record! Iii|;)“. Slash had already started basic pre-production of his album before his short European tour earlier this year, and has now returned to work on his new record.
He must be excited at the new album, as he has been tweeting about it all week. “We've put together some killer material for new record. Will keep u posted! ii|;)” was posted on Monday. No release date has been announced yet but it is expected to be released in 2012. Luckily he isn’t working with Axl Rose, or we could have been waiting another 15 years for a record.
